TOMMY CASTRO (WINNER OF 4 HANDY AWARDS FOR 2010 INCLUDING BEST CONTEMPORARY BLUES ALBUM)
"Ace finally met his match: Texas born blues singer Cathy Lemons. I think how tragic it would be if somehow they never met. Cathy has the great voice and clever lyrical mind and Ace has the grooves and the feels, and you put those elements together and it makes great songs. Cathy and Johnny have a unique and rare chemistry like Louis Prima and Keeley Smith, Delaney and Bonnie or Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball. I don't think they realize just how much they complement each other....This is a strong and soulful effort...I am honored to have been asked to play on this record."

ANDY "BLUES BOY" GRIGG (REAL BLUES MAGAZINE)
We are NUMBER SEVEN in "Top 100 CD Picks" for "Lemonace"
6 Bottle rating (usually reserved for the vintage greats).
"I declare this to be the greatest thing Ive heard so far in 2010!"
A totally unique, hard-drivin gem of an album
This CD offers up some of the finest, freshest, hippest grooves Ive heard in many a moon.
"Johnny and Cathys vocals are so seamless, perfectly matched and naturally soulful that you realize they are completely alone in this style/genre."
Cathy is the finest light-skinned female Blues vocalist in the U.S. and Johnny rates with Larry Taylor of Canned Heat when it comes to Blues bass prowess.
Cathys natural vocals ... sound like a female John Lee Hooker/Howlin Wolf.
"Listen to Johnnys bass lines if you want to hear perfection."
"Guitarist Pierre Le Corre is a funk tornado, while Stix shows off his freight train drumming.""Le Corre should be considered in the ranks of Kid Ramos and Rick Holmstrom when it comes to West Coast Guitar."

JOHNNY FULLTIME (FULLTIMEBLUES.COM)
" A wonderful, beautiful, sonic film that bends the boundaries of genre description."
The album, as a whole, is a real joy to listen to, and I think Cathy and Johnny, along with the help of their band and some great friends, crafted one of the coolest records of 2010.
The more I listen to this CD, the more I fall in love with her (Cathy Lemonss) voice, which is velvety and hypnotic.
Every song on the CD, whether it's the three minute opening number, or the album's longest track, ends organically when it needs to, and not a second before or after. It was a really cool realization, for me.

"Holding nothing back, the CD blasts off from the first bar with two high-energy cuts. Brand New Day features a vocal duet of Lemons and Ace with the hyper-caffeinated rhythm section of Ace and drummer Styx Chavez providing irresistible propulsion. Love Like A Fire barely slows the tempo, providing a psychedelic-rock spin on blues with guest Kid Andersens cutting lead guitar."
"Im Not The Woman I Used to Be showcases Pierre LeCorre on a burning opening guitar solo."
"Used to These Blues' lets us have a full dose of Lemons sultry vocal virtuosity..."

"Johnny Ace plays the bass like it amplifies his heartbeat ..."
"Cathy Lemons is one of those women singers who can sing anything and make it compelling."
I remember the first time I heard the Butterfield Blues band as if it was just yesterday. Those guys knew the formula--they had listened to and played with everybody who was anybody in Chicago--and they brought the music to rich throbbing LIFE. It was new and yet it wasn't, and they didn't give a damn if you liked it or if you didn't. Well, this cd captures a bunch of that same feel. It's hard and deep and rich.

"An original daring work"
A dancing joyful album, with a mixture of psychedelic jump and blues that will delight listeners. A praiseworthy new blues vision by Johnny Ace and Cathy Lemons, which fills a gap in this music.
Blues that oozes an amazing actual personality"
"It certainly would be a good idea to buy a copy. GREAT.

Johnny Ace and Cathy Lemons have to be two of the most talented blues artists in the country today. Why they are not more publicized in the blues world is a mystery to me.
Their release in May 2010 on Vizztone showcases the caliber of musicians that they are in the same league with. Give Lemonace a listen and become a huge fan like I have!
