Johnny Ace knew Cindi Lauper when she was just starting out in NYC. He saw her through many incarnations. She was very determined to be a successful singer--and sometimes she was really down on her luck. But as time went on, Ms. Lauper's star began to rise--and by the 1980's she was a household name in music. Cindi always loved Ace and his kids---and has kept in touch over the years. This picture was taken with members of her staff during an autograph signing "occasion" at Tower Records--a real fiasco!
